For several years now I have thought about how to teach effectively those interested in my music and my approach to guitar playing. What does solo instruction entail?
What I am offering you is an intensive course of instruction based purely on what you are truly interested in learning. Obviously this will not be a beginner course but something for those of you who are interested and involved with my music and my way of playing and have reached a certain level of competence. You do not however have to be a concert player or professional. For me the most important thing is your involvement and interest in my music and compositions and a desire to learn things first-hand from the composer and player. My job will be to answer all of your questions, if possible, about playing, interpretation, and special technics used. Besides studying my compositions, another point of interest could be learning more about how to arrange music you like for solo guitar as well as some possible insight into composing your own music. Learning some tricks and musical psychology about performing in public is also possible topics. It will be your free choice with no competition from other participants as in a workshop atmosphere or listening to topics that are of no personal interest.
How are the days planned?
Each day would be 4 hours of study, in 2 blocks, each 2 hours in length. The first session would be 10-12 in the morning. The second would be from 2:00- 4:00. Lunch would be here at my house.
**** As a special bonus I will video important parts of the instruction and make a DVD for your reference and use at home.
What would the sleeping and eating accommodations be?
Sleeping and eating accommodations would be in a hotel or pension. I would provide the addresses and information of the hotels and pensions in close proximity to my residence. If necessary I could make the reservations, but payment of rooms would be left up to the student and are not included in the lesson fee.
Where is this to take place and how do you get here?
I live about a 1.5 miles from Hameln, Germany, home of the famous Pied Piper. The nearest airport is Hannover with commuter train connections running directly from the airport to my village of Emmerthal. I will also provide transportation from hotel to my house and back on days of instruction for those without transportation.
When is it possible to make a reservation for a session?
I will begin taking reservations immediately for the remainder of 2007.
What days of the week are being offered?
